System crash, is that you Lord ?

I’m sure some of us are familiar with the cricut machine. For those of us who aren’t, it’s a cutting machine. You design whatever you like in the design space, whether it be for shirts, hats, mugs or etc, and you send it to the cricut to cut whatever material you use and then you apply it to whatever surface material you are using. Well like any other electionical man made device it can malfunction. For those of you who have one and have experienced that you know how frustrating and even devastating that can be when the machine messes up your material during a cut.

Well one day during one of these system malfunctions I went through 3 pieces of pretty vinyl. Hurt my heart. The computer kept stopping in the middle of a cut. I tried everything I could to salvage the design that was halfway cut. I tried to peice it back together by maybe just cutting the other half and placing it back together. I tried doing word by word. I was determined to fix the mess that the machine created for me. I didnt see the messed up vinyl as waste. It cost to much to be waste. I saw it as a valuable piece of material that i was gonna give my all into fixing before just giving up… it was in that moment that God spoke to me.

In that moment, he revealed to me two things . 1, am I that diligent in fixing my spiritual life and things associated with it. 2, my sheer determination to not give up on that paper is the same exact way he feels about us when we are messed up in sin, times infinity. He doesnt look at us as disposable. If he did, he wouldnt have left the 99 to find the 1. That’s another study lesson though.

In him revealing these things to me I had to sit back and reflect ask myself these questions. Do you reflect on you spiritual growth? Do you make spiritual goals like we do worldly goals and keep track of your progress or growth? Do you give your spiritual life your all even when its frustaring and hard? As these questions ran through my mind I had to sit back and think on these things and decide how I was gonna improve in this area of looking at trials in my life.

I could name so many examples of the lengths that God has went through to not have us separated from him and the love and determination he has put into us but for the sake of the length of this post I will just use the biggest of them all that covers all the others. Jesus. John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that those who believe on him may have everlasting life. God does not wish to just dispose of us when we are messed up. No system crash can keep him from us. WHEN we repent, when we admit our sins and ask for forgiveness he is willing and just to forgive us of our sins and help us rebuild. He is all for fresh starts and that’s why he said we all must be born again before we can take part in his kingdom. We must be a circumcised people like they were required back in Abraham’s day. The depth of the spiritual meaning of that circumcision is another blog as well.

God reveals to us in different ways how he is trying to reach us. What he knows we are capable of. In that moment of that system crash I would say I spent almost an hour trying to fix the mess that I didn’t create. Here we are 2000 plus years later and he is still waiting for those of us whom he knows is going to fix our mess, to let him help us fix it so he can come and take us home. That system crash wasn’t just to annoy me. I looked at it as God showing me something about myself and him. I will never look at a system crash the same again. I pray whatever your “system crash” in life may be that you are determined to fix will remind you of how precious you are to him every second of the day. MARANATHA.
