Part 2 to Surface Faith

Gensis 3:7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
When we look at this verse we see that it says their eyes were opened. It’s safe to say that before their eyes were not “shut” because they walked around the garden freely and there was no mention of them being physically blind. So it is in this sense that we can see that this eye opening of theirs must have been the lost of their spiritual light when they decided to take part in the fruit that the Lord told them not too.
Before Adam and Eve chose to eat of the fruit on the tree of the knowledge of good and evil they were clothed in Rays of light which means they were covered in God’s glory. His character. They walked in his ways until that very moment.. It was in that moment that they lost possession of Gods character. His Glory.
John 1:14 – And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
It was for this reason that Jesus was sent to save us. To restore Gods character in this world and to show us we can live without the character of this world. We do not have to sin. We can gain the victory if we look to glorify God in everything we do, say, eat and drink etc. The very thing that God is waiting on before returning, is for the fulfillment of all whom he knows will develop his character, to fulfil his character. When those have perfected his character he will tell the four Angels to let go of the winds and he is coming back for us.
1 Cor 10:31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
Now there is another type of covering that we often dont realize. When we are in the world, we do not realize that the things we do do not line up with Gods glory. We are blinded by the world and its “glory”. Spiritual things are spiritually discerned so if we are not living a spiritual life we wont see spiritual things as we should.
Let’s take saul for example. When he went around persecuting Christians he truly thought he was doing the right thing. He thought they deserved the punishment etc. Until one day God was able to open his eyes and strip him of his worldly thinking and in that very moment he gained the character of God and walked with him and the world no longer. He was sorry for the things he had did because he then realized they were wrong. He then became a new creature in christ and became Paul.
2 Cor 5: 17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he IS a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
Christ says when he comes for us our characters must already be righteous. The only thing he is changing is our bodies. That should show us even more how important it is now to have the glory of God before he comes so we do not remain blinded by the worlds “glory”.
1 Corinthians 15:52 King James Version (KJV)
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
So as we see, there are two types of coverings. A spiritual covering and then a covering of the world that will prevent us from being able to discern spiritual things. When the worldly covering is removed it’s like we see a whole new light. The light of christ. His glory that he wants to perfect in our hearts(mind). All we have to do is seek him. Seek him while he may be found brothers and sisters.
